DISCOVER THE LITTLE STARS EDUCATION CURRICULUM
A unique approach for children aged 3–5, inspired by the world’s best
educational practices
The LITTLE STARS program is centered on the holistic development of the child as an active and curious learner. It emphasizes transversal skills, essential knowledge, attitudes, and key values to support each child during this crucial stage of development and to lay strong foundations for joyful and meaningful lifelong learning from the earliest years.
It draws upon the most renowned pedagogical approaches worldwide, particularly the Cambridge Early Years Curriculum, the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), and active pedagogies such as Montessori, or Reggio Emilia. It is also aligned with 21st-century skills defined by UNESCO, the OECD, and the World Economic Forum.
An international program supporting the child’s global development
The LITTLE STARS program is based on an integrated educational vision that considers all dimensions of child development. It places the child at the center of their learning and weaves together cognitive, emotional, social, physical, and creative aspects in a coherent way, respecting each child's natural rhythm.
Children aged 3 to 5 are natural explorers: their attention span, overflowing imagination, and desire to understand the world are the pillars of our approach.
We combine hands-on learning experiences, interdisciplinary projects, sensory activities, guided play, storytelling, artistic expression, music, and body movement. Instruction is delivered in English, and families can choose to add one or two additional languages (such as French,, Russian, Spanish, German, Mandarin, etc.) according to their linguistic goals. This openness to multilingualism enables rich linguistic awakening that respects each child's pace.
A pedagogical approach tailored to early childhood: learning through exploration and creation
Our educational program for 3–5 year olds is grounded in active, project-based pedagogies inspired by Montessori, Freinet, and Reggio Emilia methods, as well as the international frameworks of Cambridge and Intenational Baccalaureate (IB).
At this age, when curiosity is boundless and every discovery sparks wonder, children learn primarily through play, exploration, and interaction. We have designed engaging and developmentally appropriate activities.
Through collaborative projects with families and creative resources, we provide a learning environment that nurtures autonomy, creativity, communication, collaboration, and the child’s overall development.
Why this program is unique and ideal
for this age
-
Learning through play and projects
Our project-based approach enables children to explore rich and varied topics through concrete experiences: handling materials, building, experimenting, and problem-solving. This method promotes the development of essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and cognitive autonomy. It also fosters natural curiosity and intrinsic motivation to learn.
-
Creativity at the heart of education
True to the Reggio Emilia approach, we emphasize personal expression through the arts and collaborative work. Children learn to explore the world with their own ideas, express their emotions, and share their creations with others—developing self-confidence, artistic sensitivity, and teamwork.
-
A Deep respect for each child’s natural rhythm
The program adapts to each child's specific needs, recognizing that psychomotor, emotional, and intellectual development follows a unique path. This personalized approach supports stress-free learning in a secure and nurturing environment.
-
A multilingual and multicultural framework
English is the primary language of instruction, allowing us to welcome children and educators from around the world and fostering a rich, multicultural environment. Additionally, the program offers the option to add one or more languages depending on family needs and language projects. This linguistic and cultural diversity fosters open-mindedness, cognitive flexibility, and prepares children to thrive in a global and multilingual world.
-
Development of socio-emotional skills
Beyond cognitive knowledge, we place a strong emphasis on emotional intelligence, empathy, cooperation, and conflict resolution. These social skills are fundamental for building harmonious relationships and long-lasting self-confidence.
-
Introduction to "21st Century skills"
The program integrates key competencies such as communication, collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, and resilience from an early age in alignment with OECD and UNESCO recommendations for preparing children for future challenges.
-
Supportive and formative assessment
Children are guided through continuous observation and recognition of their individual progress in a positive and supportive manner. Achievements are celebrated and challenges are gently supported, encouraging children to grow without stress.
-
Active family involvement
Projects and activities are designed to encourage parental involvement, creating a strong connection between home and school, and reinforcing educational continuity through a co-education approach.

-
Learning Through Experience
Children learn best by doing. Our hands-on, immersive activities promote deep and lasting understanding of concepts.
By cultivating these skills from their earliest years, we prepare children to grow with confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our values and the qualities we foster
in our students
Our school is built on a holistic educational vision where the values we uphold are also the essential qualities we aim to develop in our students. These principles are central to our pedagogy and support 3–5 year olds during this crucial phase of growth.
We value authenticity, allowing every child to freely express their personality and unique talents.
Autonomy is a priority: our activities help children make choices, experiment, and take on small responsibilities that build their self-confidence.
We also cultivate creativity, offering opportunities to explore, express, and imagine through art, play, and projects.
Children learn to work together through cooperation, sharing, respecting others’ opinions, and solving challenges collectively.
We foster empathy, helping children understand and respect others’ emotions, laying the foundation for harmonious and compassionate relationships.
Their natural curiosity, the innate desire to learn and explore, is encouraged through engaging activities that turn every question into a discovery.
We teach responsibility by encouraging children to care for themselves, their belongings, their environment, and each other, while promoting honesty and integrity in their actions.
Courage is another quality we nurture by encouraging children to take on challenges, persist through mistakes, and develop resilience, the ability to overcome obstacles and grow through adversity.
Finally, we emphasize values such as patience, essential for understanding that some things require time and effort; fairness, to recognize justice and follow rules; and gratitude, to appreciate life’s beautiful moments.
All of this is done in a spirit of joy, because we believe learning should be a positive and fulfilling experience.
These values and qualities reflect our commitment to nurturing balanced, creative, and globally aware individuals, ready to face tomorrow’s challenges with resilience and joy.

The role of parents: learning partners
As Free Little School is an online school, parents play a central role as active partners in their children’s learning journey.
At this stage of development, when emotional support and encouragement are essential, we see parents as facilitators, supporting their child’s discoveries and daily progress.
We provide them with practical tools, clear guidance, and dedicated training to help create an environment that fosters both personal growth and meaningful learning.
Together, we form a committed team, working hand in hand to offer each child a rich, balanced, and globally connected educational experience.
Let’s share this beautiful learning journey together!
The LITTLE STARS class is more than just an educational program. It is a journey of exploration and growth, where every child finds their place and builds the foundations for a fulfilled future.
We look forward to sharing this inspiring adventure with you and your child.
